Chad, Eric and Dills chat about the team with the best record in the bigs. Over the past week, they won 4 in a row before dropping their last 2. We had fun talking about the 2 game sweep, including the crazy extra inning games against the Angels and A’s and the frustration of going 0-13 with runners in scoring position in last night’s loss to the Dodgers. Plus, an all-star update, injuries, a Giant gets suspended for PEDs, foreign substances, and more!

The Giants have won 9 of 11 and lead MLB in homeruns for the month of July with 22. You read that right. They lead the league in homeruns this month. Did this team find their true identity, or is this just a phase like a cranky teenager going through a growth spurt? Eric and Chad talk about the series win in Milwaukee and recorded this during the Giants’ 19-2 demolition of the Rockies in the first game of their day-night doubleheader today.
To the surprise of everyone, the Giants are one of the hottest teams in the league. All the more surprising is the fact that they are winning on the strength of their offense. The team is 9-2 in its last 11 while averaging 8.5 runs per game. Suddenly, they’re just 4 games back of a playoff spot. At 750/1 to win the NL Pennant, there would be value betting on the Giants to squeak into the playoffs and make a run. However, Farhan Zaidi is still likely to sell at the deadline, so bettors wouldn’t actually be wagering on this Giants team; they’d be wagering on a team that may be without the likes of Madison Bumgarner and Will Smith. The guys at Sports Betting Dime think there is value betting on the Giants to squeak into the playoffs and make a run.

The Giants have won 6 of 7 and head into the All Star break just 5 1/2 games out of the second wild card spot. The problem is that they have seven teams in front of them, and that is why the oddsmakers give the Giants only a 0.7% chance of making the playoffs. That said, we can still enjoy some good baseball as of late with a tremendous week by Evan Longoria, who hit 5 homeruns, including 4 in San Diego, the Shark is pitching very well, Dickerson continues to swing a hot bat, and Will Smith heads into the break converting 23 of 23 save opportunities and dipping his ERA under 2.
Chad and Eric talk about the last two weeks of Giants’ baseball, Chad’s experience covering the Diamondbacks game last Sunday, they give their All Star game and HR derby predictions, and look forward to baseball before the trading deadline to see if GM Zaidi will pull the trigger on any trades to help the farm system for future Giants’ teams.

The Giants took the rubber game of a three game set with the Cubs with a 13th inning walk-off hit by Buster Posey. This was the second walk-off in the series and the eighth walk-off of the year, which leads all of baseball.
Chad and Eric chat about the current homestand, Crawford and Posey’s selections to the All-Star game, the timely pitching of Dereck Rodriguez and Suarez, the return of Johnny Cueto, the trade of Gearrin and Jackson, more trade rumors and more!

Happy birthday, America!
To celebrate, the Giants have won six in a row, and have mystified some Giants’ fans who seem to think “there’s a chance” of making the playoffs.
No. That’s not going to happen.
But, that’s no reason to not celebrate this winning streak, the bullpen, and the timely hitting! I mean, even a guy who goes 1 for 10 with a homerun celebrates that dinger, right?
Eric and Chad talk about what’s gone right for the Giants, why they should trade Cueto, Posey’s selection to the All Star team, the homerun derby, and who’s hot and who’s not.
Stay safe out there! Don’t blow off any fingers and don’t drink and drive.
The Giants have been a streaky team this year, and this week is no different being mired in a seven game skid. Willie and Chad talk about the Giants recent struggles, injuries, the return of Cain and Peavy, and beat up on Don Mattingly. We also made ourselves feel better talking about the four Giants that were selected to the All Star game.
The Giants went 4-2 for the week, which is something amazing considering they were under.500 at home. Despite a 12-13 June (ok, they can still be .500 with a win tonight), the Giants are only 1/2 game back of the Dodgers. Chad and Ben discuss the month of June, the All Star game voting, Duffy and more!
