Chad, Eric and Dills chat about the team with the best record in the bigs. Over the past week, they won 4 in a row before dropping their last 2. We had fun talking about the 2 game sweep, including the crazy extra inning games against the Angels and A’s and the frustration of going 0-13 with runners in scoring position in last night’s loss to the Dodgers. Plus, an all-star update, injuries, a Giant gets suspended for PEDs, foreign substances, and more!

Episode #226: Snatchin’ Walk-offs

San Francisco Giants’ Mike Tauchman snatches a would-be walk-off home run off the bat of Albert Pujols. The Giants would end up winning the game in 10 innings by a score of 8-5. (Photo from NBC telecast)

You can download the episode here, or stream it below!

The Giants’ season took a depressing turn when they were swept at home by the Dodgers. But, being #ResilientAF, they brushed themselves off and won 6 of their next 7 games, including 3 of 4 in Dodger Stadium. That weekend was highlighted by a gut-wrenching, classic torturous Giants game as the Dodgers tied it up with a pinch-hit, 2 out, 3-run bomb to tie the game at 5. The very next batter, Albert Pujols, sent what appeared to be the walk-off blast over the left field wall until Mike Tauchman put on his cape and lept over the fence to snatch defeat out of thin air. The Giants proceeded to put a 3 spot in the 10th and held on for the win. That propelled them to 3 straight over the Dodgers. Chad and Willie talk about the last two weeks of baseball, the shift, Gausman winning NL pitcher of the month, postseason predictions, the upcoming series vs the streaking Cubs (9-1 over 10…and swept the Padres) and more.

Join us for episode #225 as we chat about the 26-16 first-place Giants as they stay hot. Yes, they should be 6-0 on this road trip, but sh$# happens. Despite having the best record in all of baseball, the Giants have still been walked off 6 times on the road. That’s HALF of their 12 road losses. As Eric put it, they aren’t #ResilientSF, they are #ResilientAF. We chat about the Pittsburgh and Cincinnati series, and preview the BIG series against the Dodgers this weekend. (apologies for some audio level problems, they will be fixed for the next episode)

Episode #223: Alone in First!

Join Chad and Eric’s discussion about the last week of Giants baseball and the surprising development that this team finds itself alone in first place for the first time since August 2016. Remarkable for a rag-tag team, eh? They review the series at home vs Colorado and three at San Diego. The starters continue to dominate while the hitting and bullpen still need to pick it up. But hey, we can’t complain much at this point. Then there were the infamous three straight balls called strikes in the 9th in San Diego (see tweet below). Ump had a dinner reservation, apparently. Join Chad, Willie and Eric’s discussion about the Giants series victory over those pesky Marlins. Logan Webb looked great in the series finale, and overall the pitching once again made up for the lack of offense. Also, did Madison Bumgarner pitch a no-hitter?
