Episode #235: Pinch-Hit Bombs Rule

What an exhausting week of Giants’ baseball, filled with a heart-crushing defeat, victories snatched away from losses at the last minute, and back to back jacks twice, Chad and Eric talk about it all. The Giants maintain their NL West lead, but it did slip a bit to the streaking Dodgers. We also talk about the pros and cons of a team that relies, more than any other team, on the long-ball to score runs. We’re in the last lap of the mile now, and the Giants have their eyes surprisingly set on capturing the division title for the first time in nine years. All of our episodes are also available on Apple, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, and most major podcast platforms.

Episode #234: Controlling Their Own Destiny

San Francisco Giants’ Brandon Crawford signed a two-year extension worth $32 million last week that will keep him in SF through the 2023 season. (Sports Illustrated)

You can download the episode here, or stream it below!

Chad, Eric and Willie talk about the last two weeks of Giants baseball, including Brandon Crawford’s 2 year, $32 million extension and how that might affect Posey and Belt, the fact that they went 10-3 and only increased their NL West lead by a game, the dramatic come-from-behind victories, the taxed bullpen, and how this team continues to be the best in baseball with its depth, consistency and resilience. We also make fun of our pre-season win predictions and look forward to how the Giants can clinch the West, something we didn’t even consider back in April. All of our episodes are also available on Apple, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, and most major podcast platforms.

Chad, Eric and Dills chat about the team with the best record in the bigs. Over the past week, they won 4 in a row before dropping their last 2. We had fun talking about the 2 game sweep, including the crazy extra inning games against the Angels and A’s and the frustration of going 0-13 with runners in scoring position in last night’s loss to the Dodgers. With the way the Giants are playing, we DO feel good! For those of you who are old enough to remember the 1989 “I Feel Good” commercial/campaign the Giants ran….you’ll understand. Join us for episode #220 as Chad and Eric review the Giants series in San Diego and against Colorado and Cincinnati. We discuss the incredible timely hitting (despite being second-worst in batting average in the NL), and excellent pitching that has contributed to their scorching 8-4 start to the season. Alex Wood joined the rotation and will pitch in Miami, but that’s balanced by a lat injury to Johnny Cueto in the finale of the Reds series.
