Episode #323: Beat Good Teams, Lose To Bad?

Just when they had us down, they sweep us back into their arms. Well, maybe not quite yet, but the Giants have quietly put together a 4 game winning streak and are 3 games under .500. Their offense is finally clicking, and they’ve even homered in 10 straight games. Devers went off tonight in game 2 of their series against the Cubs, going 4-4 with 2 bombs, a double, and 5 RBI….right after I put in the notes about his poor splits in SF vs BOS. He raised his OPS by 50 points with the Giants in ONE game! Eric and Chad chat about the good week in Giants baseball, and look towards a favorable September schedule, where the Giants will play 6 games against the Dodgers, the only winning team in their last 29 games. Now, we’re not saying they are going to sneak back into playoff relevance, but we are saying if you were to line up the possibility, this would be the way to do it. We review who’s hot and not, injuries, and even talk about Big Dumper and the Freak for a spell.

Episode #240: Not the Captain?!
You can download the episode here, or stream it below!
A fantastic 5-1 week saw the Giants’ NL West lead grow by one game to 2 and their magic number shrink to 5 with 6 to play. Unfortunately, the good vibes were marred somewhat when we found out that Captain Belt has a fractured finger that could jeopardize any playoff participation…and he had been one of the hottest players in baseball, cranking out homers 28 and 29 in a game this week. Eric, Chad and Willie talk about the week that was and look forward to the last 6 games of the regular season as the Giants try and clinch the NL West and avoid game #163 and the wild card game. Plus, we bring back the old segment, “Why we will win it all!”

You can download the episode here, or stream it below!
Earlier this week the Giants clinched their first postseason berth in five years, but they are not even close to being finished. After a subdued celebration, they have their eyes set on the NL West crown, but the Dodgers keep winning, as they trimmed the Giants’ lead down to a single game. With 12 games remaining, the stakes are high. Who will come out on top? We cover this and more! Audio version is available wherever you get your podcasts.

Join us for episode #237 as we review a crazy week in Giants’ baseball that culminated in a hotly contested series with the Dodgers. The Giants are guaranteed to have their best monthly record of the season. They won nine straight series. They went 6-3 on the road trip, yet here they are, only 1.5 games ahead of the Dodgers. Eric and Chad talk about how this resilient team will deal with positive COVID tests for Donovan Solano and Alex Wood, and a sick Johnny Cueto, all while they head into huge series with the Brewers and Dodgers. Episode #235: Pinch-Hit Bombs Rule
You can download the episode here, or stream it below!
What an exhausting week of Giants’ baseball, filled with a heart-crushing defeat, victories snatched away from losses at the last minute, and back to back jacks twice, Chad and Eric talk about it all. The Giants maintain their NL West lead, but it did slip a bit to the streaking Dodgers. We also talk about the pros and cons of a team that relies, more than any other team, on the long-ball to score runs. We’re in the last lap of the mile now, and the Giants have their eyes surprisingly set on capturing the division title for the first time in nine years. All of our episodes are also available on Apple, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, and most major podcast platforms.

Episode #234: Controlling Their Own Destiny
You can download the episode here, or stream it below!
Chad, Eric and Willie talk about the last two weeks of Giants baseball, including Brandon Crawford’s 2 year, $32 million extension and how that might affect Posey and Belt, the fact that they went 10-3 and only increased their NL West lead by a game, the dramatic come-from-behind victories, the taxed bullpen, and how this team continues to be the best in baseball with its depth, consistency and resilience. We also make fun of our pre-season win predictions and look forward to how the Giants can clinch the West, something we didn’t even consider back in April. All of our episodes are also available on Apple, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, and most major podcast platforms.

We streamed episode #210 on Facebook tonight, reviewing the wild card round and previewing the division series. We review Zaidi’s end of year comments and watch the Giants’ fan “thank you” video. Horrible, bad, regretful predictions of the DS and CS winners are also made by Chad and Eric. We hope they don’t come true. www.torturecast.com @torturecast facebook.com/torturecast
